Five Things to be Thankful For

Thanksgiving break is finally here. As I sit here at home surrounded by family and holiday decorations, I am reminded about all I have to be thankful for. Here are five things I am thankful for this holiday season:

1. My Family

To begin, I am so thankful for my family: my dad, mom and brother. I am blessed with such a loving and supportive family who is always looking out for me. I am also thankful for my family that lives in different cities and states: my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Even though we may not be close geographically and don't get to see each other as much as we'd like to, when we do get together it's like we were never apart. Time spent with my family will never be taken for granted.

2. My Boyfriend

My boyfriend, Cameron, is one of the most kindhearted, caring and intelligent people I know. It isn't always easy being at different schools, but our time spent together is so special. I am thankful for the love he shows me every day and his constant support. He has been not only my boyfriend, but my best friend for almost four years and I can't imagine life without him.

3. My School

I could not be more thankful for the opportunity I have to go to the happiest place on Earth, James Madison University. As soon as I stepped foot on this campus, I knew it was where I belonged. I am in awe everyday when I walk to my classes on the quad that I am lucky enough to go to school somewhere as beautiful as JMU.

4. My Friends

I am so thankful for the love and support of my friends who have stayed by my side through it all. Some friends I have been close with since middle and high school, while others I have been lucky enough to know during my time here at JMU. Nonetheless, my friends are there through the good, the bad and the hungry times, and for that I am so thankful.

5. Time to Relax over Thanksgiving Break

Right now I am very thankful for the time I have to relax over this much needed break. This semester has been very challenging. so it is nice to take time off and enjoy my time with family and friends.
