Thanksgiving break is only eight days away.

Here are a few things you need to know:

1. If you live on-campus, all residence halls close at 5 p.m. Saturday, November 19.

2.Dining Services will adjust their hours to accommodate for break so be sure to check their site to know what locations are open and when.

3. Be sure to lock all windows and doors, lower heat settings and unplug electrical appliances that could be potential hazards while you are away.

4. If you are planning on leaving your bike or vehicle behind while you travel over break, be sure your property is in a secure location.

5. Residence halls and dinging services will reopen on Saturday, November 26, at 4:30 p.m.

If you are not one of those who will be leaving JMU for Thanksgiving, no worries, there are still things you can do to enjoy the holiday in Harrisonburg among friends.

Full Thyme Student lists a few simple recipes and holiday ideas for those who don't get to travel home.

You can do these next 9 days Dukes!
