Today was a big day. It was the day that you stepped up to the plate, or in this case the ballot, and put in your vote for who you thought was best qualified to run our country for the next four years. You probably felt a lot of pressure with all of the political commotion going on these past couple of months. I bet you feel a sense of relief knowing that it is all over. Now that you have made your decision for the presidential election, I have another decision for you to make–are you going to Taco Tuesday? For many of us, today was our first time voting. And what better way to celebrate that moment of our lives and this moment in our country’s history than with tacos? There are several spots in the ‘Burg that can help you successfully put an end to what we would say was a pretty exciting and memorable day. Check out the list below for a quality Taco Tuesday.

1. Tacos El Primo

Harrisonburg’s first food truck, this place hands down has the best tacos in the area. It will forever put places like Chipotle and Qdoba to shame. The menu is guaranteed to make you smile. The tacos are served street-style and are authentically on point. Want to go beyond the tacos? Go for it, there are so many options to choose from and most of them are under $10 too. What more could you ask for a Tuesday pick-me-up? You can’t go wrong with this place, especially if you need a little boost from all the stress of who our next president will be.

2. Jalapeño

Jalapeño provides a great atmosphere to let loose after standing in line for the polls for hours. Grab a bunch of friends and talk politics into the night with a table full of tacos. Not just one Tuesday, but any Tuesday your heart desires, you can indulge in their 2 for $5 tacos. Even better, you can pair your plate of tacos with a refreshing margarita, but only if you are 21 of course.

3. El Charro

Harrisonburg first got a taste of El Charro in the 90s. The restaurant has been making its way into the hearts of JMU students ever since. El Charro never fails to be an essential eat for a Duke, but it should have your heart especially on Tuesdays. With a menu as big as El Charro’s, I bet you’ll have more trouble deciding which tacos will land you in the biggest food coma than who you wanted to be president. But don’t worry kids, at least in the taco election, there is no bad candidate.

Tuesday is almost over. You helped make a difference for our country, now go make a difference for your taste buds.
