When In Doubt, Brunch It Out

To the genius that created the beloved meal known as Brunch, I salute you. Who knows where I’d be if I couldn’t give myself food comas every weekend with endless plates of omelettes, pancakes, and tater tots? What would I have to look forward to on the weekends? Skipping Brunch is just not an option for me. I thrive off of brunch and so should you. If you aren’t already an avid bruncher, here you go.

You Get to Sleep In

Brunch is typically served between the hours of 11 and 3, giving you plenty of time to get your life together. There’s no need for you to rush out of bed, those Pot O’ Tots from Artful Dodger will be waiting for you. The timing is especially perfect for students 21 and up who had a little too much fun the night before and are looking for something to bring them back to life without making them sacrifice their rest.

Breakfast + Lunch = Endless Options

With brunch, you get the benefits of choosing both breakfast and lunch. If you’re like me and are the most indecisive person in the world, all I have to say is good luck making a decision. You will likely get lost in the menu from zoning out in all the taste bud-tingling possibilities. Maybe you want a breakfast slider from Billy Jack’s or maybe you’ve been craving their Greg Brady’s? Maybe you want to go all out and get both? Whatever you decide, I support you. No one has ever gotten hurt by brunching too hard.

Drinks on Drinks on Drinks

Who says it has to be 5 o’clock somewhere? More like 11 o’clock and barely out of bed. Twenty-fun year-olds can cure a night of drinking with more drinking by ordering $1.50 mimosas from Billy Jacks or $4 bloody mary’s from Artful Dodger.

It’s Perfect for Social Hour

Brunch is a great opportunity to get your gang together and rehash the weekend or the latest happenings of your lives. Especially once you become an upperclassmen and no longer see your friends every five minutes from living on-campus, brunch will become something you look forward to as your go-to for staying connected. If you’re drowning in stress over midterms, there’s nothing better than having a little venting session with your friends while indulging in some delicious pancakes.

A Lazy Way to Start Your Day

With no classes on the weekends, finding the motivation to move is like trying to find parking on campus. It just doesn’t happen. But where there is food, there is a way. Brunch is a good move for waking yourself up and getting energy for the day. It doesn’t require much to brunch, just your bedhead and your sweatpants, and your appetite of course.

There’s Bacon

It’s put in everything for a reason, people. Bacon is life. If you don’t agree, I may question your ability to brunch.
